Merry christmas!
It’s been a great half year working at Making Waves, with lots of exciting projects and customers and a lot of new learning experiences for me. I’ve been working on both large and small projects with some very talented colleagues – hopefully soon I’ll have time to post some of those projects here.
Recently I’ve also had some weeks off to spend with my little boy, but I’m looking forward to making some new great websites in 2011! For now I just want to wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year!

Featured in the new Los Logos Compass
I just got word from Gestalten that some of my logos have been included in the new Los Logos-book which will be released shortly. From what I can see of their book presentation, at least my logo for Litteraturuka is featured there.
Featured in new Zeixs book

I just got word from the great guys Zeixs that I have been featured in yet another one of their fine books. (I have previously also had my work included in Great New Characters and T-Shirt Designs). Check out the newly released book New Textile Design.
Zombies at Arcon game festival
This spring I’ve been working together with the guys at Arcon and this year’s profile for their gaming festival. That’s gaming as in role playing games, board games and such. It’s actually being held this weekend, so pop in for some zombie gaming action in Oslo. This years concept is zombie apocalypse, so watch out for slow-moving brain-eating enemies and the defending military forces at Arcon-26.

BabyBox
And now for something completely different – the BabyBox. This is a packaging design I did for Apotek 1, which is the biggest pharmacy-chain in Norway. The BabyBox is a box full of stuff you need for a newborn baby, that you get for free at the pharmacy. Baby illustrations by Vincent J. Vestly.

Ariano – new font coming soon
I made a couple of posters for a new typeface I have been working on in between other projects, and here they are. The typeface i’s called Ariano and all letters and symbols in it are built using grid of triangles. So it is made on the same principle as pixel-fonts, only with triangles instead. As the poster states, it will be coming out soon.

Le Lab Contest
A couple of weeks ago I entered Le Lab Toys’ contest to design their new vinyl figure, based on the theme “Freudian nightmare”. I discovered the contest a big late, but I decided to make a design that was based on rorschach patterns and sent it in the night before it ended. First time I’ve tried something like this. I was awarded third place, and they sent me a very nice e-mail afterwards. Maybe I’ll get to make a custom for them some day.
Read more about the contest on their blog.
Phat Blox – Free Font

It is still however in a Beta version, feedback is appreciated.

Typography Experiments
I’ve been experimenting a little with type treatments lately, as I get so incredibly inspired looking at what other people do in this field. Here is some of the stuff I have been working on.
